Politics

A few people have asked me lately (including a British guy working at Heathrow) who I’m voting for in this next election, and for now I have to say I’m not sure. I’m still waiting to see what some of the candidates say about the issues.

On that note, could we get to the issues please? McCain, stop whining about how much the media loves Obama. The media can’t do anything right anyway, and they’ll probably end up hurting Obama all on their own. Just talk about your plans!

And Obama, stop dignifying McCain’s attacks. Remember when you were a little kid and everyone told you to just ignore that kid at school that’s bugging you? Sooner or later they’ll get bored. If you look at the poll numbers, it doesn’t seem to be hurting you anyway.

And a tech related note: apparently a few people in the House of Representatives have started Twittering from the floor, and their getting in big trouble for it. I think it’s brilliant. Isn’t the whole point of our democracy for people to be informed and participate in government? Everyone of the representatives in the House and Senate should have the option to communicate with their constituents any way they want. And if you want to get the youth involved, Twitter seems to be a great place to start.

Obama is apparently Twittering, though it’s probably not him and just one of his aides. Think it will continue if he is elected President? It would be interesting, to say the least.
